The spinoff of A Quiet Place films has received an official title. The film, which is set as a prequel to the first film, will be titled A Quiet Place: Day One. The film will tell a different story and will be set in a different setting of the world now invaded by a threatening intergalactic species. The spinoff will not feature Emily Blunt’s Evelyn Abbott and her family, thus, focusing on a different set of characters affected by the global invasion.
Unveiling its biggest slate to date in India, at its maiden Prime Video Presents India showcase event in Mumbai, Amazon Prime Video on Thursday announced over 40 new titles, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, across original series, original movies, and co-productions that it plans to launch over the next 24 months. Dialing up its strategy of bringing the best and latest movies to consumers across languages, Prime Video announced new multi-year licensing deals and co-productions with some of India’s biggest and most successful studios. Prime video also announced its foray into original movie production in India with films in Hindi and Telugu, to be released directly on the service. The service recently completed half a decade of super-serving customers in India and announced that it will more than double its investment in Prime Video India over the next 5 years. Karan Johar confirmed exclusive streaming rights for Dharma Productions' next three films and announced four new original series coming on the platform.
Following the success of Shershaah which premiered on Amazon Prime Video, Karan Johar announced that Dharma Productions has signed three-film exclusive streaming deals with the platform for its upcoming slate - Jug Jugg Jeeyo (Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Prajakta Koli), Govinda Naam Mera (Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani) and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Dimple Kapadia.
One of the four series' to be announced is Call Me Bae which is about a billionaire fashionista who is disowned by her ultra-rich family, owing to a salacious scandal and for the first time in her life, has to fend for herself. On this journey, she overcomes stereotypes and discovers who she really is. Produced by digital wing Dharmatic Entertainment, the show is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair.
The second series is India Love Project which is a docuseries that shares the inspiring love stories of real people from across the country where each episode tells an unusual yet hopeful story through the eyes of the real couples.
The third one is a film titled Aye Watan...Mere Watan which is inspired by true events, it is the story of a young girl who became uniquely instrumental in the freedom fight for Indian independence. The series is helmed by Kannan Iyer and written by Darab Farooqui.
The fourth project is yet to be announced. Good Mourning is Machine Gun Kelly's addition to the world of stoner comedies. It's worth mentioning that these movies seem to come out in a cycle with each generation. Cheech and Chong kicked off the genre with their set of comedy. Then in the '90s, we had Half Baked and Dazed and Confused. The 2000s arguably became the genre's golden age, giving us movies like Dude Where's my Car?, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Grandma's Boy, and How High. But a good classic stoner movie hasn't been released in a while. And if Machine Gun Kelly has timed this right, Good Mourning will be a movie for the decade.

Jurassic World: Dominion promised that returning cast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum would not be given a gimmicky cameo role in the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy. Now the latest trailer has made good on that claim by showing all three actors well and truly in the thick of the action and the best look yet at the number of dinosaurs and action sequences that can be expected when the movie hits cinemas on June 10th.
Disney has finally revealed the title of James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel, Avatar 2, along with a visual treat – the first 3D teaser trailer screened at CinemaCon, the annual gathering of movie theater owners that’s currently taking place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
According to Deadline, now titled Avatar: The Way of Water, the 20th Century Studios sci-fi adventure releases overseas starting December 14 and heads to North America on December 16. Producer Jon Landau came in from New Zealand to make the Disney presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. It was also revealed that Disney will rerelease the original Avatar on September 23 around the globe with remastered audio and sound.
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water will follow the next chapter in the lives of Sam Worthington’s Jake and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri and begins to tell the story of the Sully family, Jake, Neytiri and their kids, and the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure. “I know one thing,” Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully tells Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. “Wherever we go, this family is our fortress.”
CinemaCon attendees were reportedly given 3D glasses to watch the minutes-long trailer, which contained almost no dialogue. Instead, exhibitors were immersed into different regions across the magnificent world of Pandora through sweeping visuals of the planet’s crystal blue oceans and lakes. The footage also shows the local tribe of Na’vi interacting with various species resembling whales and pelicans, some of which flew through the screen and into audience member’s faces thanks to the three-dimensional technology.
“One of the strengths of Jim Cameron’s scripts is they are always universal and relatable themes that he weaves into them,” Landau said. “At the center of each of the four sequels will be the Sully family. Each story will be a stand-alone and each will come to its own conclusion.” There will be a “fulfilling resolution to each film, but when looked at as a whole the journey across all four will create a larger epic saga. The journey across all four movies will create a connected saga. To achieve our goals, we need a strong partnership with you and the studio … an end-to-end community,” the Oscar-winning producer added.

James Cameron beamed in from Wellington, NZ where he’s shooting, expressing sympathy for exhibition about the industry’s hardships during the pandemic. He told exhibition, “I just want you to hear it from me: Jon and I are here to work with you,” he said. “The best way is by delivering content that is a must-see experience at the cinema.” The Oscar-winning filmmaker said he was “hard at work putting the final touches on the film.” He added that the new films are “pushing limits even farther with high frame rate, higher resolution 3D and greater reality in our visual effects. I wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special. Every shot is designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution and most immersive 3D available. I think we pulled it off.”

Actor and director Olivia Wilde was reportedly handed child custody documents, from former partner Jason Sudeikis, while introducing footage from her upcoming thriller Don't Worry Darling during Warner Bros' presentation at CinemaCon, the annual movie theater industry gathering.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the mysterious envelope given to Olivia Wilde in the middle of her presentation contained custody documents from Jason Sudeikis, who wasn’t aware the legal paperwork would be served during CinemaCon. “Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis,” the insider told THR. “Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered, as this would solely be up to the process service company involved, and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
On Tuesday, while Wilde was presenting the trailer for her new film Don’t Worry Darling at the movie exhibitors convention, a mysterious manila envelope labeled “personal and confidential” was slid to her by someone in front of the stage. At first, onlookers believed the envelope to be a script from someone attempting to gain the Booksmart director’s attention but Deadline reported on Wednesday afternoon that the envelope contained custody documents from Sudeikis.
In response to the incident, CinemaCon said in a statement that it would “reevaluate” their security protocols. “To protect the integrity of our studio partners and the talent, we will reevaluate our security protocols,” NATO managing director and head of CinemaCon Mitch Neuhauser told Variety. “We will act accordingly because it’s the right thing to do. We want to do the safe, proper thing.”

The two were formerly engaged but ended their romantic relationship in 2020. The filmmaker is currently involved with popstar and Don’t Worry Darling lead Harry Styles.
That popular petition for Amber Heard to be removed from the upcoming sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has just reached a major milestone. As the televised trial between Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp continues, the petition gained some new traction as more and more people became aware of the situation. With word of mouth spreading online, the petition had previously managed to top 1.8 million signatures, and this newfound attention has now pushed it past 2 million total names.
Johnny Depp is suing his former wife Amber Heard for $50 million claiming that she ruined his career by fabricating claims of domestic violence. A former agent for the Hollywood star testified that Heard’s abuse allegations had a “traumatic impact” on Depp’s image following which he was dropped from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
According to a Variety report, Christian Carino, a talent agent at Creative Artists Agency, appeared by video deposition at Depp’s defamation trial, which has been underway in Fairfax, Va. since April 11. Carino testified that it became clear, though conversations with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and CAA co-chair Bryan Lourd, that Disney had decided it could not continue to employ Depp. Carino said that the abuse claims were never openly discussed as the reason, but that it was simply “understood” within the industry.
Carino was friends with both Heard and Depp, and represented both of them at various points, though he reportedly said that he no longer has a relationship with either of them. He testified that Depp is “one of the finest actors of his generation,” and that has not changed despite the turmoil of his life in recent years. But he also said that the lawsuits, with his former business manager, his former attorney, and with Heard, have damaged Depp’s off-screen image. “I think what he was known for off-screen was a shroud of mystery of who he was, because he was not visible to the public,” Carino said. “It changed with the exposure that came with the lawsuits.”
Carino was asked about the production of the fifth Pirates film, in 2015, and acknowledged that Depp was routinely late to set. “I’m aware of him being tardy, but he’s been tardy on everything his entire life,” Carino said, adding that the production had figured out how to work around the issue. Carino was vague about when Disney decided not to hire Depp for a potential sixth Pirates film saying at first that he could not specify even the year when it occurred. The timing of that decision is a key issue in the case. Heard’s lawyers told jurors in opening statements that there must be proof that the Post article specifically damaged Depp’s reputation for him to prevail in a libel case.
Carino also testified that Heard twice tried to reconcile with Depp, even after she filed for divorce, once in 2016 and then again in 2017. At one point in 2016 he brokered a meeting between Heard and a reluctant Depp that ended in a fight, per The Hollywood Reporter. He also testified briefly about Heard’s subsequent relationship with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. Heard texted Carino in 2017 professing sadness about her breakup with Musk. Carino seemed incredulous, and texted in response to Heard, “You told me a thousand times you were just filling space.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the jurors saw video depositions with two LAPD officers and a front desk employee who works at the Eastern Columbia Building, where Depp used to own several penthouses. The officers were called to the penthouses on May 21, 2016, for a report of domestic violence. Heard refused to make a report, and the officers testified they saw no evidence of injury. Officer Tyler Hadden, one of the officers who responded to the couple’s penthouse apartment that day, said Heard refused to talk to officers and had no signs of an injury, although he acknowledged she’d been crying and was red-faced. “Just because I see a female with pink cheeks and pink eyes doesn’t mean something happened,” he said in a recorded deposition played for jurors Wednesday, as THR cites.
Jurors heard similar testimony Tuesday from an officer who accompanied Hadden to the penthouse. An officer who made a follow-up visit that night, William Gatlin, testified that he saw no injuries either, though he acknowledged that his visit was brief and he got no closer than 10 feet (3 meters) from Heard. The jury saw a bodycam video of Gatlin’s response, which was less than two minutes. Heard could only be seen at a distance. Heard’s lawyers, in their questions, have suggested that Heard could have covered her injuries with makeup, because at that point she still wanted to protect Depp.

Today morning, Aamir Khan unveiled his 'Kahani' on a radio channel. 'Kahani' is the title of the first song from the film Laal Singh Chaddha. Sung by Mohan Kannan, the melodious track has been composed by Pritam and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. What makes it unique is that this is the first time that Aamir has released the song of his film before the trailer release. The first song has also been released over three months before the scheduled theatrical release of the film on August 11. On the radio show, while unveiling the first song, Aamir also said that all songs from the film will be launched only in audio format.

Sony’s upcoming animated Spider-Man sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two) has undergone a title change. Revealed at the ongoing CinemaCon event, Part Two will separate itself from its predecessor and will instead be titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Presumably, this also results in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse dropping the “Part One.”
For many older fans of Walt Disney’s animated movies, films like Bambi are a world away from some of the modern offerings from the House of Mouse, and that is an opinion shared by Donnie Dunagan. While his name may not be familiar to many, you will have heard Dunagan’s voice as he played the young version of the iconic Disney deer in the 1942 release of Bambi, one of the best-known movies in Disney’s long history. Based on the book by Felix Salten, the life of Bambi plays out from his birth, through the trauma of his mother’s death, to his ascension as prince of the forest, and Dunagan believes that more movies would have been like Bambi if Walt Disney had not passed away in 1966.
It is not unfair to say more than a few people were quite eager to see Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League, and they had their chance when the 4-hour epic finally debuted on HBO Max last year. Legendary actor Marlon Brando almost had a strange appearance in Scary Movie 2, but it was not meant to be. Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne, who played Regan MacNeil in a parody of The Exorcist in Scary Movie 2's opening scene, recently opened up about her work on the film. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Lyonne explained how she has a VHS copy of an alternate version of the scene that features Brando in the role of the priest played by James Woods, and though it was axed from the film, it turned out to be one of Brando's last performances.
Ana de Armas has opened up about her upcoming film Blonde, which details the life of Marilyn Monroe. The biopic is directed by Andrew Dominik and based on a book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. Akhtar will be directing and producing this Netflix film that will take us back in time as it will be set in the 1960s.

Earlier this week, Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan made headlines with the announcement of his next film titled Dunki. Making the announcement the actor confirmed reports of him featuring in maverick director Rajkumar Hirani’s next venture. While a teaser promo featuring the name of the film was released, SRK also revealed the release date of the film to be Christmas 2023. Interestingly though, the said date had already been locked in by a different big-ticket Bollywood actioner, viz. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Announced on February 8, 2022, the film will see two of Bollywood’s leading action stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff uniting for the first time. Titled Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film though sharing the name with the 1998 Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda starrer is not going to be a remake. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it will be an out-n-out action entertainer and is expected to be mounted on a huge scale. Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar. Presented by Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in association with AAZ films is being readied to release in five languages Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on Christmas 2023.
On the other hand, Dunki will feature Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. As for the film, it is being said that Dunki will be based on the issue of "donkey flight" — an illegal backdoor route that has emerged as a popular escape path for Indians who wish to immigrate to the US and Canada. In this process, individuals enter a foreign country via multiple stops in other countries. It is a popular method among youngsters who do not get approval to enter their target country by legal ways. As for the filming, SRK even began shooting for the project in April this year on sets that were erected at FilmCity.
While Stephen King fans are yet to see any footage from the latest adaptation of Salem’s Lot, the movie has landed itself a release date of September 9 exclusively in cinemas and not on HBO Max as originally expected. Middle East censors have banned Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, according to The Wrap. Although the censors have not provided any reasons for banning the film's release, it's the latest Marvel movie to fall victim to state-sponsored censorship to constrain certain civil liberties and human rights norms, including the expression of a LGBTQIA+ lifestyle. By including an openly LGBTQ+ character in its film, America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), the Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been banned in Saudi Arabia, as well as Qatar and Kuwait.

South Korean group SEVENTEEN will make their highly-anticipated return at 1 PM KST on May 27 (9:30 AM IST on May 27) with their 4th full-length album Face the Sun.
At midnight today, the title and the release date of SEVENTEEN’s forthcoming album was revealed with a cryptic first glimpse into the album. In contrast to the mellow, pastel-colored aesthetics the act recently presented through the pre-release track “Darl+ing,” the stills of a staircase, ropes, the sun, a map and a structure laid across the teaser imply a more muted but multi-faceted shade to the stories to unfold.
Opening their new chapter with “Darl+ing” earlier this month, the team of 13 creatives hinted that the upcoming album will tell stories they hold closer to their hearts than ever, imbued with thoughts and feelings they have kept to themselves until now.
The K-pop supergroup’s first English-language single “Darl+ing,” released on April 15, landed in Top 10 of iTunes Top Songs Chart across 46 countries/regions around the world, topping the chart in 34 of the countries/regions.
Pre-order for Face the Sun begins on April 22 (KST).

Having been signed by Zoya Akhtar to play the male lead in her indigenous adaptation of the Archie comics’ universe opposite Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, son of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter Shweta, is being fully tutored into the art of facing the camera.
Luckily, Agastya is a fast learner. Says a source close to the Bachchan family, “Neither of Agastya’s parents are actors. So he is leaning on his grandparents and his Maamu (Uncle) Abhishek Bachchan for guidance. Agastya has always been a big fan of his grandfather and of the Archie comics. So he has the advantage of being a part of the cinematic universe that he will soon occupy officially, even before facing the camera.”
One hears Agastya is already getting several offers from the biggest banners. But he wants to wait until Zoya’s project materializes before thinking of another project.

Tiger Shroff is currently gearing up for the release of his action-packed film Heropanti 2. The film directed by Ahmed Khan will be released in theatres on April 29. Apart from the high octane action sequences in the film, the music of the film composed by AR Rahman has had the audience hooked. The makers have been arranging separate events for the launch of every song. After ‘Dafa Kar’, ‘Jalwanuma’, and ‘Miss Hairan’, the team is all set to launch the song ‘Whistle Baja 2.0’.
The new track will be launched at an event at Gaiety cinemas in Bandra on Saturday. Tiger Shroff will be attending the event. Sung by Neeti Mohan and Mika Singh, the song has been penned by Mehboob and composed by A R Rahman.

‘Whistle Baja’ was also a part of the 2014 film Heropanti which marked Tiger's debut in the industry. The songs from the film were a hit and the second part also seems to be following on the success path.
After films like Baaghi 2 and Baaghi 3, trio Sajid Nadiadwala, Tiger Shroff, and director Ahmed Khan are now looking to push the envelope and set a new benchmark in action with Heropanti 2. This time around the sequel of the blockbuster has been mounted on a huge budget and will witness never-seen-before action.
Written by Rajat Arora and music by A R Rahman, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti 2 is directed by Ahmed Khan, who also directed Tiger’s last release Baaghi 3. Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui also play pivotal roles in the film. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on 29th April 2022 on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

RLJE Films has released a new photo of Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect, Good Girls Revolt) from the upcoming Western movie Murder at Yellowstone City after acquiring the North American rights to the film. Filmed on location on a site formerly known as Yellowstone City in the 1860s, the film is the first production to be shot on the new western backlot in Montana. It follows a former slave who arrives in Yellowstone City, a former boomtown now on the decline, with the hopes of finding a good home. That same day, a local prospector discovers gold - and is murdered.
The Dungeons & Dragons reboot has its official title. Currently in the works for a March 2023 release, the live-action film's official Instagram account posted a video clip, unveiling the movie's official title in motion with epic music playing. As shown in the video, which you can check out below, the film will be called Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
As far as Vin Diesel and his family are concerned, Fast X couldn't happen without Jordana Brewster. A new report from a Marvel insider says that the two characters share "almost as much" screentime.
Filming has officially started on Fast X, the tenth and penultimate installment of the Fast & Furious movie series. Set for a theatrical release in 2023, the film will bring back many of its major players from the franchise to help close out the series with two last movies. For years, there have been rumors that Campbell would have been director Sam Raimi's pick to play Mysterio in his unmade sequel Spider-Man 4. This seems to be based on storyboard images, said to be for the ill-fated film, that features illustrated images of Mysterio getting unmasked. The man under the mask just so happens to have a strong resemblance to Campbell, igniting speculation that this was because he'd been cast in the role.
Thor: Love and Thunder finally released a first look at the summer blockbuster on Monday. The trailer managed to rack up an impressive 209 million views within its first 24 hours online, becoming the fourth most-viewed trailer behind Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home. After the trailer was teased for weeks, the fan expectation was about as high as it could be, and as expected from a first teaser, the 90-second trailer didn’t really give too much away about the plot of the movie. Fans of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will take whatever updates they can get on the third movie in the comic book franchise, and the actress herself has recently given a positive update on where the movie is, although it suggests that there will still be quite a wait for its arrival. The next video game from the past to be revived with an all-new movie adaptation will be Streets of Rage. Per Deadline, a feature film based on the side-scrolling beat-em-up video game is now in the works with a spec script written by Derek Kolstad, the creator of the John Wick franchise who served as a writer on the first three films in the action movie series. Kolstad also wrote last year's Nobody, which starred Bob Odenkirk as an action hero. Producing the Streets of Rage film will be dj2 Entertainment (Sonic the Hedgehog) and Escape Artists (The Equalizer).
The incomparable Bob Odenkirk has been officially honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On April 18, the same day the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul premiered, Odenkirk paid a visit to the famous walkway where he was bestowed with the star by two of his frequent collaborators. This includes Rhea Seehorn, with whom he's been co-starring on Better Call Saul since 2015, as well as David Cross, his longtime comedy partner and Mr. Show co-star.
The long-gestating Minecraft movie is moving forward with a major star set to take the lead. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Aquaman and Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa has been cast in a live-action feature film adaptation of the popular block-building video game. Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) is also on board to direct the movie for Warner Bros. Pictures.
