Elijah Wood Thinks Lord Of The Rings Wouldn’t Be the Same If Made in 2021

December 24, 2021

Elijah Wood, who played the protagonist, Frodo Baggins, in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings series, believes the films couldn’t be made today like they were back in the early 2000s. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was shot simultaneously in New Zealand from October 1999 to December 2000, on a combined budget of $281 million, and ended up grossing almost $3 billion at the box office. Made on a fraction of the budget of a modern Hollywood blockbuster, The Lord of the Rings series has become one of the most successful and influential franchises in cinema history.
