Don't tell Alex Garland that 28 Days Later isn't a zombie movie. Released in 2002, 28 Days Later was written by Garland and directed by Danny Boyle. The film picks up with a man awakening from a coma nearly a month after a viral outbreak has decimated London, leaving most of its inhabitants dead. Those who get infected with the highly-contagious virus don't die and come back from the dead, though they exhibit zombie-like behavior in the sense that they become highly aggressive and spread the disease through biting.
