Marvel Studios’ animated series, What If…?, may have become the best way for the MCU to play with its own narrative. Of course, fans have always been willing to play that game with their own recasts of popular comic book groups, asking what would have happened if they had appeared on-screen years earlier. The latest of these focuses on the idea of the X-Men being brought to screens in the 1980s, with a host of big name stars depicted as some of the biggest X-Men characters, such as Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto.
