Most 2023 films are seeing red rather than pink right about now. Yes, Barbie (Margot Robbie) already saved her beloved Barbieland, but she has no intention of resting on her laurels. Greta Gerwig’s big-screen adaptation of the Mattel doll isn’t showing any signs of slowing down either as the film enters its second week on release. Barbie brought in another $29 million (per Box Office Mojo) on Friday, July 28 to kick off the weekend. And the film is poised to have a better second weekend than most other movies opened with in 2023.
