Hyderabad Civil Court issues stay order on the release of Kangana Ranaut hosted reality show Lock Upp

The City Civil Court of Hyderabad has issued an ad-interim injunction on releasing the upcoming show ‘Lock Upp’ hosted by Kangana Ranaut. The order is awarded after a hearing and checking the documents of the petitioner Sanober Baig – who happens to be the sole right holder of the story and the script of the concept ‘The Jail’. The court also took on record the video clip of the trailer of ‘Lock Upp’ and concluded that it appears similar. Since the show was to be released on 27th February 2022; the court has passed the order with an urgent notice prohibiting the exhibition of the show on any electronic media, social media, etc.

The concept is owned by Pride Media through its proprietor Sanober Baig and was written by Shaantanu Ray and Sheershak Anand and registered under the copyright act on 7th March 2018. It was registered at the Film Writers Association. In his petition, the plaintiff Mr. Baig has described how the concept was developed also explained the concept in detail, giving the details of the money invested by him at various stages of concept development. Commenting on the situation Sanober said, “When I saw the promo of the said show I was in shock. I have been in touch with Abhishek Rege from Endemol Shine for a long time and had several meetings about the subject in Hyderabad. He had promised that once the market gets better, we will get going. The show is not only similar to our concept but an absolute copy of the same. I could not believe that somebody could plagiarise the concept to such an extent. We have prayed to the court infringement of the copyright and have got a stay order."

If the infringement is proved, the defendant production houses will be liable for consequences under sections 51 and 52 of the Copyright Act. "I connected with the respective companies and requested them not to go ahead with the concept. But they turned a deaf ear and challenged that they have every right to stream as per the schedule. I had no option but to seek redressal from the judiciary. The notice has been served to all the parties involved and we have the acknowledgment of the same. If the show gets aired it’ll be a contempt of the court. I have full faith in the judiciary and am sure that justice will be served," said Baig as he signed off at the moment.

Case filed against Mahesh Manjrekar for allegedly showing minors in objectionable light in Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha

Actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has run into legal trouble after a case was registered against him over the alleged portrayal of minors in objectionable light in his upcoming film Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha. It has been alleged that the film features minors in obscene scenes. The case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Along with Mahesh, producers, Narendra, Shreyans Hirawat and NH Studioz have also been mentioned in the complaint.

Several reports suggest the case has been filed by the President of the NGO Bharatiya Stree Shakti, Seema Deshpande under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 292, 34, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Section 14 and Sections 67, 67B of the IT Act. Deshpande alleged that the film depicts sexual activities featuring minors and their aunt. Furthermore, she said that it also depicts violence involving children and the vulgar dialogues in the film. Mahesh Manjrekar told a publication that the film was censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He also said that he will cooperate with the investigation and his lawyers will respond to the case.

BTS gear up for four night Las Vegas stadium residency in April 2022 after Seoul concerts in March

Pop Titans BTS announced today that ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LAS VEGAS' would be held on April 8, 9, 15, and 16.

‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LAS VEGAS' will take place at Allegiant Stadium in front of a live audience. Additionally, the in-person live broadcast event “LIVE PLAY in LAS VEGAS” will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena on all four days. The concert will also be streamed online on the last day of the tour on April 16. Registration to purchase tickets for the new dates will begin now through Saturday, February 26th at 5pm PT.

This is approximately four months after the band performed in LA for 'BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA' in late November and early December last year.

Last week, BTS announced dates for ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - SEOUL’ which would mark the band’s first in-person concerts in Korea since October 2019. The Seoul concerts will be held at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on March 10, 12, and 13.

Bappi Lahiri's last rites to take place on February 17 upon arrival of his son Bappa Lahiri from Los Angeles

Music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri, who was famously known for his disco music in the 80s and 90s in the Indian music industry, passed away at Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital on February 16. He was 69 and was suffering from several health issues.

According to an official statement from the hospital, "Bappi Lahiri was suffering from OSA- Obstructive Sleep Apnea and recurrent chest infection. He was treated by Dr.Deepak Namjoshi. He was hospitalised in Criticare Hospital, Juhu for 29 days with this. He recovered well and was discharged home on 15 February. However, after a day at home, his health again deteriorated and he was brought back to Criticare hospital Juhu in a critical state and succumbed to his illness at about 11.45 pm. He suffered from a Covid infection last year. He had OSA for the last 1 year. He was admitted on multiple occasions to Criticare Hospital under treatment of Dr.Deepak Namjoshi and recovered on all occasions."

Bappi Lahiri's last rites will be conducted on Thursday, February 17 after the arrival of his son Bappa Lahiri from Los Angeles. The statement from the family read, "It’s a deeply sad moment for us. The cremation will take on the arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid-morning. We are seeking love and blessings for his soul."

Bappi Lahiri is survived by his wife Chitrani Lahiri, Bappa Lahiri and Rema Lahiri.

Bappi Lahiri was popularly known for the songs like 'Chalte Chalte', 'Disco Dancer', and 'Sharaabi'. His last song was 'Bhankas' for Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi 3 in 2020.

N.Flying’s Cha Hun to make his acting debut as a lead in rom-com drama Calming Signal Mung Yang Mung Yang

South Korean rock band N.Flying’s member Cha Hun is all set to make his acting debut this weekend through a unique rom-com drama.

The group’s agency FNC Entertainment announced on Tuesday that Cha Hun will make his debut as an actor this Saturday, Korea JoongAng Daily reports. The artist will play the leading role of character named Kim Ha Joon, “a founder of a pet-related startup who coincidentally runs into his first love and receives professional dating counseling to have a successful romantic relationship with the girl”.

The unique drama which tells the story from the eyes of the characters’ pets also stars Yoon Chae Kyung and Ryan alongside Cha Hun. The series will air every Saturday at 8:30 p.m. KST.

N.Flying is a South Korean rock band formed by FNC Entertainment in 2013 which marked its debut on May 20, 2015, with its first EP titled 'Awesome'. Cha Hun debuted as a member of N.Flying in 2015. The group consists of five members — Cha Hun, Lee Seung-hyub, Kim Jae-hyun, Yoo Hwe-seung and Seo Dong-sung. All five member of N.Flying renewed their contracts with the group’s agency last year.

Bappi Lahiri, music composer-singer, passes away at age 69 following multiple health issues

Music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri, who was famously known for his disco music in the 80s and 90s in the Indian music industry, passed away at Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital on February 16. He was 69 and was suffering from several health issues.

According to PTI, Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, director of the CritiCare Hospital, said in a statement, "Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight."

Bappi Lahiri was last seen on the reality show Bigg Boss 15 with Salman Khan where he was promoting his grandson Swastik's new song 'Baccha Party'.

Over a week ago, he spoke to Bollywood Hungama paying tribute to late singer Lata Mangeshkar. He said, “Many say she was the reincarnation of Mata Saraswati. I say she was sakshaat Saraswati Mata. Unko main hazaar pranaam karta hoon. In her going, I’ve lost my mother all over again. I have been in her lap when I was a toddler. When I had Covid last year, I was at Breach Candy hospital for fourteen days. Maa called my wife every day…every single day at 7 pm sharp. Even when I came home from hospital, she was extremely concerned, especially about my voice.”

While Arnold Schwarzenegger is best known for blowing things up and taking on legions of bad guys, from the late 80s onward, the Terminator star found his feet briefly in the comedy genre thanks to the movies Twins and Kindergarten Cop. In 1994, as well as a reunion with director James Cameron on the action blockbuster True Lies, he also teamed up again with Danny DeVito on the comedy Junior, a movie that told the story of a scientist who undergoes an experimental treatment that sees him being impregnated. While the film was moderately successful but not on the same comedy level as 1988’s Twins, the two actors appear to have had plenty of fun making the movie, with DeVito once tricking Schwarzenegger into getting high on set.
