In the ninth episode of Koffee With Karan 7, the couch brought together two stars who started out as debutants together but have now carved a niche for themselves. This week, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon graced the couch who debuted in Heropanti and are starring in Ganapath. During the conversation, the actor spoke about his recent setback with Heropanti 2 and how heartbroken he was due to the box office failure.

With taking the name of the film, Karan Johar asked Tiger Shroff how he deals with a huge setback like this. Tiger said, “I was heartbroken. I was depressed. I’m just a very extreme person, I wouldn’t say I sacrificed a lot because I like what I do, and I don’t have a social life and too many friends…” Karan added, “You did a lot of failure eating.” Tiger agreed to it saying, “I’m an emotional eater.”

Kriti Sanon was quite surprised considering they were shooting for Ganapath and that Tiger Shroff 'masks' it really well. When Karan asked whether this setback as determined him to prove himself again at the box office, he said, “I’m even hungrier right now. I’m not the type to get adulation–like great work, look at how well he has done. For me, my validation is the box office. I live for those whistles and all when I land, and I am about to save the day.”

Helmed by Ahmed Khan, Heropanti 2 starred Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria. The film released in May 2022.

On the work front, Tiger Shroff is currently busy with Ganapath starring Kriti Sanon. He also is set for Baaghi 4.

Harrison Ford's Star Wars Blaster Sells at Auction for Over $1 Million

A Star Wars prop has just sold at auction for more than a million dollars after a competitive bidding war. Recently, an auction was recently held by the Rock Island Auction Company for collector firearms. In the past, they've auctioned off other screen-used pistols from various movies, including John Wayne's gun from True Grit. However, the new auction for the DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol used by Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope has reportedly sold for a cool $1,057,500. It had been estimated to sell for anywhere from $300K to $500K, making this more than double what was expected.

Anupam Kher defends Yash Raj Films after Anurag Kashyap blames Aditya Chopra for the recent YRF film debacle

Anupam Kher, who recently featured in films like The Kashmir Files and Karthikeya 2, came in support of head of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra after filmmaker Anurag Kashyap blamed him for the failure of their recent releases. The filmmaker had commented on how the director-producer sits in an office and keeps directing his employees on every small matter. Coming to his defense, Anupam maintained that it was not easy to build and maintain an empire like YRF films.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, as the veteran actor was seen promoting Karthikeya 2 with the star cast, Anupam Kher said, “I am very, very proud of Aditya Chopra. Yash ji’s family is like my own family. To have built an empire like Yash Raj Films is not an easy thing. It’s easy for people to make comments. I don’t again want to pass judgement on what he has said. He is not the ultimate authority on human behaviour.”

His comment comes after Anurag Kashyap spoke about the recent string of flops given by Yash Raj Films. Their last 3 releases which featured superstars like Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Akshay Kumar in Samrat Prithviraj, and Ranbir Kapoor - Sanjay Dutt in Shamshera turned out to be box office disasters. Addressing the issue, the filmmaker had told Galatta Plus, “You have one person sitting in a cave, who doesn’t know the world outside, dictating how everybody should be making their films and telling them what to do. If Aditya Chopra has hired a bunch of people, he needs to empower them and not dictate them, not control the casting, not control everything. Sit in your office, hire good people if you trust them, and let them make their film - which is the mistake he makes! He doesn’t let them be.”

Anupam Kher has been a part of some of the biggest YRF films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Darr, Lamhe, among others.

Earlier this weekend, Sony Entertainment Television’s ongoing comedy reality show, India’s Laughter Champion came to a befitting end. The ‘Laughter Ka Grand Finale’, which was hosted on August 27, saw the Top 5 finalists - Nitesh Shetty from Mumbai, Jayvijay Sachan from Mumbai, Vighnesh Pande from Mumbai, Himanshu Bawandar from Ujjain, and Rajat Sood from Delhi perform one last time in front of the judges, Archana Puran Singh, and Shekhar Suman. Making the evening even more special were the cast of Liger – Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey who were promoting their film and present at the finale was also a special guest, that is Sunil Grover in the guise of Rinku Bhabhi.

Rajat Sood from Delhi wins India’s Laughter Champion

As the country waited in anticipation to know who from amongst the Top 5 finalists will be declared the winner, Rajat Sood from Delhi was awarded the coveted trophy of India’s Laughter Champion. While Nitesh Shetty from Mumbai was declared as the first runner-up, owing to the tough fight between Jayvijay Sachan and Vighnesh Pande, the two were declared as the second runners-up in a tie.

Winner Rajat was awarded a cheque of Rs. 25 lakhs. Speaking about the win, Rajat said, “I was overwhelmed when the celebrations began, and my name was announced. For a few minutes, I had to absorb the fact that I had won. I had planned this moment in my head multiple times but, the reality left me awestruck. It was also a milestone moment as I was performing in front of my parents for the first time in life. They had only previously seen my content online and they would not really bring it up with me or discuss it with me. Their presence was a blessing. Some decisions that come instinctively to you are signals from the universe, which tell us that good things are about to happen. My father is very happy and I could see that pride in his eyes. I am now open to opportunities and shows that will come my way. Now I have to work even harder, and I have a fire inside me to do better. I will try to read more and equip myself to become a better artist.

Judge of India’s Laughter Champion, Shekhar Suman said, “It was a well-deserved win! Rajat fought very hard, and it was a very tough competition. I think Rajat had a very distinct flavour of his own and he comes across as a very endearing guy. He is a millennial, far too young, but he has the wisdom of a 40–50-year-old. He is extremely charming and spontaneous. So, when you watch him with his stage presence, with his spontaneity, his content, his timing, ease, confidence, all of that is a sure-fire recipe for a winner. “

On the other hand, the other judge of India’s Laughter Champion, Archana Puran Singh shared, “Rajat Sood captured our attention with every passing episode. From the very beginning, I knew there was something special about him that got us to notice him and when he started performing more and more, he started standing out even more. He has a “lover boy” image and with the way he uses the essence of poetry in his comedy, I thought he was the perfect candidate to win the show. I saw his journey closely, and I was so hopeful. His finale act was brilliant. The consistency of his performances, his pleasant appearance, his presence on stage, his haazir-jawaabi, his witty responses, and his very chocolate boy look - all go to make him a winner.”

‘Comedy’ is a word that is known universally but, with Rajat Sood infusing ‘poetry’ in his comedy acts, he aptly earned the title of ‘Pomedy.’

Movie Tickets Will Sell For Only $3 in Most Theaters on National Cinema Day

In 1980, the average cost of a movie theater ticket was around $2.70 and on September 3, 2022, movie lovers can enjoy the full theater atmosphere – screaming or laughing with the crowd for just $3. It's all part of a campaign by the Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners to lure folks back to the theaters during Labor Day weekend, which is normally a slow time at the box office. Cineworld, which owns Regal Cinemas, cited the scant supply of major new releases in its recent plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Dubbed “National Cinema Day," at least 30,000 of the more 40,700 movie screens across the nation will be participating.

And now the actress has taken to social media to announce the wrap of the same. She shared a joint post with her Drishyam co-star and also gave us a sneak peek into her look from the film.

Readers would be aware that Tabu and Ajay Devgn are childhood friends and the two of them have played many interesting roles. It is being said that Bholaa will feature the actress in the role of a cop whereas Ajay will be seen in the role of a prisoner. In the recent joint post with her co-star, the actress shared a photo of their looks from the film where she is seen in a suited formal attire whereas Ajay is seen wearing a black shirt with a ghamcha. Speaking of Bholaa, the film marks the fourth directorial of Ajay Devgn after U, Me, Aur Hum, Shivaay, and the latest Runway 34 that hit the big screens in 2022. It is a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi that originally featured Karthi along with Narain, Arjun Das among others and was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. As for Bholaa, the film is expected to hit the theatres on March 30, 2023.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn and Tabu, who have acted in many films including Golmaal Again and De De Pyaar De, recently also shot for Drishyam 2 together. While they featured as a suspect and cop in the prequel, they will reprise their roles in the second part too, as the film is a continuation of the previous plotline.

Right amid his shoot schedule, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to reveal that he has tested COVID positive and that he has quarantined himself from any association with the public. His announcement came in earlier this week, after which, many fans expressed concern over his health. However, the superstar recently took to his blog, where he assured his fans that he is recouping well but along with the update, the actor also mentioned how he doesn’t work with a team, who does all his chores for him. He mentioned that he has been doing all the household chores by himself as he has quarantined himself and is even responding to phone calls and emails personally.

Batman Fan Film Made by Minnesota High School Students in 1966 Discovered

Talk about a fun bit of cheesy nostalgia. In 1966, long before the internet, DVDs, VHS or cell phones, a group of Minnesota’s Washburn High School students produced a 30-minute Batman fan film using a borrowed 16mm film camera from the audio-video department. They wore homemade costumes to create their own versions of Batman and Robin, thanks to a few moms who fired up the old Singer sewing machine. The students also drove what is presumed to be the family cars which were transformed into a Batmobile and another for the villain, Professor Sin. The budget was collected from one-dollar donations from fellow students (named as “shareholders” in the credits). Using $51 donated by fellow students to start, then another $50 more by generous relatives to finish it, and paying $3.00 per 3-minute roll of film meant that most shots had to be done in one take.

In a statement shared by FilmFare on Sunday on their official site, they condemned the unwarranted accusations made by Kangana Ranaut. "It pains us at Filmfare, today, to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Ms. Kangana Ranaut. For over six decades, Filmfare Awards, and Filmfare, at large, has been a platform that celebrates and honours talent in the Film industry impartially and with utmost transparency. It is our strong ethic that has helped us in gaining the trust of our audiences and the film industry. As is customary during the awards, Filmfare’s Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation," the statement read.

It continued, "The exact message was as follows ‘Hello Kangana, heartiest congratulations on your nomination for the Filmfare Awards. It’ll be a pleasure to have you there, do confirm your presence at the awards ceremony on August 30 at Jio World Convention Centre at BKC, Mumbai. It’ll help us plot your seats. P.S. Please send us your residential address so that we can send you the invite. Regards.’ At no time was there any insinuation of an award being given to her or any request for performance at the event made. "

"This is a patently false accusation being made by Ms Ranaut. Our invitation to her was our effort in bringing together everyone in a collective celebration of what brings this nation together, i.e. Indian Cinema. Filmfare Awards are a celebration of cinematic excellence and are awarded irrespective of the fact that a nominee attends or performs at the function. Further, Ms. Ranaut a 5-time Filmfare Awardee, was given the award twice in absentia (2014 & 2015). Despite knowing that she would neither attend nor perform. Given the irresponsible remarks made by Ms. Ranaut about Filmfare Awards, we are withdrawing her Best Actress nomination for the movie Thalaivii. We reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing our reputation and goodwill," the statement concluded.

Kangana had shared her message through an Instagram Story. “I've banned unethical, corrupt and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me award for Thalaivii... I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in anyway, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare ... thanks,” she wrote.

Kangana Ranaut was nominated for Thalavii in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category alongside Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Parineeti Chopra, Taapsee Pannu and Vidya Balan.

The anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero came up triumphant at the domestic box office with its debut in theaters. Though it was facing competitive blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick and the Idris Elba movie Beast also making its debut, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero emerged as the No. 1 movie in the United States and Canada with a haul of $20.1 million. It earned another $12 million overseas, putting it above $32.1 million worldwide.

Roger Corman's Lost Movie Starring Mark Hamill to Finally Be Released

It is hard to imagine a movie featuring Hollywood royalty such as Mark Hamill would fail to make it to general release. If you add in that the movie was produced by B-Movie legend Roger Corman, then it becomes even harder to believe, but it is true that in 2013 Corman produced Virtually Heroes, a movie that was an official Sundance selection but was never picked up for distribution, and originally went by the name of Virtual Warriors. However, it now seems that Screen Media has brought the rights to the movie after almost a decade.

Shah Rukh Khan to shoot Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki in Dubai after London and Budapest

Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make 2023 his year with three big releases after a gap of four years, starting with YRF's Pathaan. It will be released in theaters in January next year. He will also be seen in Atlee's Jawan in June 2023 followed by Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki in December 2023. The actor kicked off Budapest schedule of Dunki in July and now is set for another international schedule.

As per several reports, Shah Rukh Khan will be heading to Dubai soon to begin the next schedule of Dunki. The makers have already begun the work on post-production while they gear up for another international schedule.

Shah Rukh Khan earlier said, “Raj Kumar Hirani is one of the finest filmmakers of this generation, we have always spoken about working together and I am extremely happy we are finally doing it with ‘Dunki’. We have just started shooting this month and I am cherishing every moment of it. Raju ke liye main Donkey, Monkey...kuch bhi ban sakta hoon!”

The film is backed by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chilies Entertainment. Dunki, which is an immigration drama, will be released on the big screen on December 22, 2023.

Vijay Deverakonda confirms Liger will likely get a sequel

Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming movie Liger which is days away from the release on the big screen. It marks his first pan-India release. The film also stars Ananya Panday and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. As the actor is gearing up for Liger, he has sort of confirmed a potential sequel. Speaking to a media portal, the actor said that Liger will likely get a sequel but refused to reveal any details on the same.

In association with Puri connects, the film is being produced jointly by Dharma Productions. Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta together are bankrolling the film on a grand scale. Vishnu Sarma is the cinematographer, while Kecha from Thailand is the stunt director.

Liger will see South actor Vijay Deverakonda play the role of an underdog boxer who makes his way to international fame. The movie will also feature a cameo of former American professional boxer Mike Tyson. Being made in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages, the movie is scheduled for release in theatres worldwide on 25th August 2022.

18 Years Of Taarzan: The Wonder Car: Vatsal Sheth is humbled by the film’s BLOCKBUSTER response on television; says “Kids who were born way after it was released are watching it and loving it”

Abbas-Mustan’s Taarzan – The Wonder Car, which was released on August 6, 2004, might not have been a hit at the box office. However, it enjoys a huge fan following on television and is right there in the league of Sooryavansham and Nayak. The story of a car coming to life and taking revenge found an audience, especially among kids. As the film completed 18 years, Vatsal Sheth, who is back from the Maldives after celebrating his birthday, spoke exclusively to Bollywood Hungama about the memories of doing this film, working with Ayesha Takia and a lot more.

Taarzan – The Wonder Car was your debut film. Could you tell us the process of bagging the film?
I met Abbas bhai and Mustan bhai and they were looking to cast the main lead. Our meeting went very well. The next day, I got a call that I am on for the project. It just took one meeting for me to bag the film!

How was it to work with Abbas-Mustan?
They are simple, sweet, honest and straightforward. They treated me like their own son. Technically, they are amazing, and they know their script very well. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Taarzan – The Wonder Car was also Ayesha Takia’s debut vehicle. How was it to work with her?
Yes, we both were newcomers, and it was great fun to work with her. She is a fantastic actress.

Were you nervous, especially in the romantic scenes?
Well, it was my first film. So yes, I was very nervous. However, the whole team was amazing. I remember that Amrish ji made us so comfortable. He would talk to us which really helped.

Did you go to the cinema halls to check the reaction?
I did and it was amazing. But unfortunately, the box office numbers were not great. It doesn’t matter now because it’s the number one film on television. I guess it has broken all records. It gets such high TRPs while airing on televison till date even after so many years of release. This proves that something was good about the film.

Taarzan – The Wonder Car was released a day after your birthday…
(Smiles) Yes. So, it was a special birthday gift for me. I remember going to the premiere show on my birthday. It was quite memorable.

While growing up in the 90s, many of us remembered you as the ‘Just Mohabbat’ kid. However, kids born post-2000 know you thanks to Taarzan – The Wonder Car. What’s extraordinary is that many of them were not even born when the film had been released in theatres!
Yes, a lot of people recollect Taarzan – The Wonder Car. The other day, Sohail bhai (Sohail Khan) sent me a message saying that his son, who was born way after Taarzan – The Wonder Car released, is hooked on to the film. And this is what has happened – kids who were born recently are watching it and loving it. This is a great quality of the film. I guess, it was way ahead of its time.

Ayesha Takia won the award for the Best Debut (Female) at the 50th Filmfare Awards. Shockingly, no one was awarded the best for Best Debut (Male) and hence you didn’t win. Do you feel it was unfair?
I don’t remember, honestly. It would have been great had I won the award. But at the end of the day, when I see the response and love that I have got for the film, it’s okay. Awards milein ya na milein, it doesn’t matter.

Looking at the response to Taarzan – The Wonder Car, don’t you think that it’s high time that Taarzan 2 is made?
I don’t know. You should ask this question to the producer and directors. I would love to be a part of it.

You will be seen next in Adipurush, one of the most awaited films of 2023…
Yes, and right now, I am very, very thrilled and excited to be a part of it. When it comes out, everybody would be like ‘OMG’! I can’t talk much about it but it’s quite exciting for sure. Prabhas and Saif sir are there in the star cast. Om Raut, who has won National Awards, is the director. So, it’s a dream project, and also a dream role for me.

What’s the status of your Gujarati film, Hun Mari Wife Ne Ano Husband? It was shot a few years ago and there were talks that it would released in 2022…
We are looking for a Diwali release. Within a week or two, there would be clarity on the release date.

A few days ago, Raju Srivastav reportedly suffered a heart attack and is being treated in AIIMS in Delhi. Reports suggested he had suffered brain damage. While rumours about his health condition worsening spread like wildfire, his wife Shikha Srivastav has assured that her husband is in stable condition.

Doctors are giving their best and Raju ji is supporting them, He is fighting. So, kindly do not spread negativity," she added.

Shekhar Suman also updated on social media about the comedian's health. “Raju’s latest update is that he seems out of that critical condition he was in y’day. The best doctors, neurosurgeons are attending on him and things are looking better. I feel Raju’s own will to fight and our collective prayers are being heard by the almighty. har har mahadev," he wrote.

Days Gone Movie Adaptation in the Works, Sam Heughan Eyed to Star

Another video game adaptation is reportedly in the works. Per Deadline, a feature film version of Days Gone, a zombie game developed by The Bend Studios and published for Sony PlayStation 4, is now in development. Ranbir Kapoor quickly pointed at Alia's growing baby bump and said, "Well, I can say somebody has phailaod" referencing to her belly. The actress and the director looked stunned. This video is doing the rounds of social media and some reddit users called out Kapoor's remark for making fun of Alia gaining weight.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra is slated to release on September 9. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy.
