As far as Vin Diesel and his family are concerned, Fast X couldn't happen without Jordana Brewster. From the start, Brewster has been part of the long-running franchise with her role as Mia Toretto, sister to Dominic (Diesel) and Jakob (F9's John Cena). She reprised her role in the fourth film and has appeared in every installment since, including last year's ninth movie F9. Given this close association with the series, most fans would likely have expected to see Mia in Fast X as well.
