The arrival of the full trailer for Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde caused a fair amount of backlash, much of which has been aimed at star Ana de Armas’ accent still being present in her portrayal of the iconic actress. Along with this, the trailer reignited previous complaints that the movie is just another way of exploiting the life of Monroe and her traumas in life. However, the complaints are mostly redundant considering the feature is not a biopic but a fictionalized account of Monroe’s life based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel.
