James Cameron’s place as one of the most successful directors in cinema history has been secured as Avatar: The Way of Water passed $2 billion at the worldwide box office. This makes Cameron the first director to see three of his movies hit that huge milestone, and with more Avatar movies coming his record-breaking feat may not be done yet. There is seemingly no end in sight for the popularity of the Avatar franchise, even with such a long wait between the first two movies. With new films now expected to arrive every two years it is possible that James Cameron could potentially end up with more $2 billion movies under his belt.
