While the 2023 Cannes Film Festival opened up with a movie featuring Johnny Depp as King Louis XV, another movie debuting at the event features Jude Law as another well-known ruler. In the new film Firebrand, Law plays Henry VIII, the former King of England known for his six marriages. Alicia Vikander co-stars in the movie as Katherine Parr, the King's sixth and final wife. The film picks up with Henry returning from fighting at war and taking issue with the changes his Queen has been attempting to the court in his absence.
