After starring in one remake of a classic Disney film, Halle Bailey will soon be doing the same with The Color Purple. Bailey, who plays Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, is also part of the cast of a new adaptation of The Color Purple. The story was originally conceived as a novel by Alice Walker which was later turned into a stage play. It was further popularized by the previous movie adaptation from Steven Spielberg, which was released to great success in 1985.
