It’s official, moviegoers across the world have Barbie fever. Fans couldn’t get enough of seeing Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in theaters, during its opening weekend. The film succeeded twofold in turnout. First, audience reception garnered Gerwig’s latest venture an "A" CinemaScore along with a 90% Tomatometer rating and audience score, at the time of this writing. Second, there are those hefty box office receipts. Barbie was predicted to make upwards of $165 million at the global box office, and the film came very close to doing just that.
