There’s plenty to be afraid of at the box office. Halloween is less than a month away, and there are several horror films in play to celebrate the spookiest of all seasons, including recent releases like The Nun II and Saw X. And director David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist: Believer is starting its opening weekend in theaters. The film serves as a direct sequel to 1973’s The Exorcist, and the 50-year follow-up brought in $2.85 million during its Thursday previews domestically.
