Gary Oldman Was Originally Going to Play a Villain in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy

It’s a fascinating piece of fiction, but Liam Neeson is the one who ultimately portrayed Bruce Wayne’s mentor and eventual adversary. However, before Oldman ended up landing the role of Batman’s comrade in crime fighting, Jim Gordon, the actor admits that Christopher Nolan probably wanted him to play Scarecrow first. Oldman said during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:
