Martin Scorsese has surpassed Steven Spielberg to set a new record for the most Best Director nominations at the Academy Awards for any living director. This achievement came as Scorsese received his 10th nomination for helming Killers of the Flower Moon. Having already won numerous awards, Scorsese and his epic drama seem to be in a direct battle with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer for Oscar glory.
